Free School Meals

Uniform
There is a well stocked quality second hand uniform bank at Torquay Academy and parents and carers are welcome to have any items from the stock for a small donation. The second hand uniform is available in the Reception area of the academy.

Parents of children with Free School Meals can apply for a uniform grant by completing the form below and returning it to the school. Please note that the only items that can be purchased through the uniform grant are the school blazer and the school tie when the child first starts at Torquay Academy.
Trips/Visits/Activities
For support with trips and visits you will need to complete the attached form for each instance. Up to 50% of the cost of events will be funded by the school providing eligibility rules apply.
Music Lessons
At Torquay Academy we recognise the positive contribution learning a musical instrument can bring to our students but also realise that cost can be a significant barrier. In order to make lessons accessible to all we heavily subsidise the cost of lessons.
For children on Free School Meals, the price of instrumental lessons is reduced further. Details of the costs of peripatetic music lessons are available on the termly letters available from the music department.
