GCSE results day - year 11 students collect their results
We could not be more proud of our amazing year 11 students. As they headed into school to pick up their results in the rain, they may have heard stories on the news about declining pass rates and the number of top grades. Despite a disrupted five years of education and shifting grade boundaries, our girls and boys recorded a record set of results with our highest-ever pass rates in maths and science. Students perform exceptionally well in all of their subjects and this is the result of their sustained hard work, as well as the support they have received from their brilliant teachers. There was a lovely atmosphere on the day as students, parents and carers celebrated an exceptionally successful year.
There are many students who scored many grade 9s in subjects, but we celebrated the incredible progress that all of our children make during the five years of working towards GCSEs. We have many students who have achieved over three grades higher in every one of their subjects than the government would expect based on their key stage two SATs papers. I’m sure you will agree, these are wonderful achievements.
I look forward to welcoming the majority of the year group back into the sixth form in a couple of weeks’ time.
