Enrichment activities
It is so lovely to see so many students sharing some of the activities they are getting up to at home. We have picked three winners at random who will each be sent a £10 Amazon gift voucher. This week’s winners are Ellie Withers, Oliver Boyce and Elspeth Herring. If you would like a chance of winning a voucher next week please send in your picture to your year group team at the following email addresses:

Swashbuckling Art
The past two weeks have seen our Art students looking at a still life of some amazing swashbuckling, pirate costumes. The students have been focusing on observational drawing and paying particular attention to correct proportions. Mrs Lynch has been pleased with the progress the students are making and can see their confidence and drawing skills growing week by week.
Year 7 Netball Academy
The Year 7 Netball Academy had their first virtual netball session with Miss Lewis on Monday. Year 8 and Year 9 will also have be starting their weekly sessions with Miss Lewis on a Thursday and Friday.
Football Academy
It has been a productive few days for our Football Academy. Mr Hogg led a technical session for our home learners, held an indoor training for the Year 7s in school, as well as setting lockdown challenges and player profiles for the post 16 boys and girls. It may not be training as usual on the astro, but I know how much our students have enjoyed these sessions.
Performing Arts Academy
The Year 7 students are continuing with their online rehearsals for Annie. The Year 8-11 PAA students are going to put on Aladdin and have begun their rehearsals with the team virtually. It was great to see all of our boys and girls taking part with such enthusiasm at home!
Year 7 – Food Technology
Year 7 got well and truly stuck into pizza making this week whilst learning about macronutrients and micronutrients. They accurately weighed out their ingredients, made sure they proved their dough, evenly spread their toppings and most importantly… did the washing up!
