Creative Arts

Our Creative Arts is practical, innovative and enthusiastic – we aim to make learning as practical an activity as possible, done ‘with’ and ‘by’ our students, not ‘to’ and ‘for’ them.

Creative Arts is a profound and important part of every child’s education. At Torquay Academy we strive to deliver Creative Arts provision of the highest standard that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our students at the uppermost level. Through creativity and shared excellent practice students are enthused by their learning. Students take a lead in their learning as well as identifying and developing their own qualities and skills.

We passionately believe that quality Creative Arts education should be accessible to every student. Subsidised instrumental tuition for all students, large scale musicals and concerts, exhibitions, a full curriculum enrichment programme and outstanding teaching are examples of the opportunities that are available to our students. Creative Arts is such a powerful subject that has changed the lives of so many of our students. We are proud to be one of only 30 Musical Futures Champion schools across the country and in our position we have the power to share our outstanding practice and facilitate this change for hundreds more students on a national level.

Creative Arts have the power to change lives. Every child has an undiscovered talent, at TA we make it our mission to discover that talent; cultivate it, grow it, and empower our students to achieve beyond their wildest dreams. An 'anything is possible' mentally coupled with access to world-class facilities and tuition means the sky really is the limit.
