Students use before school, lunchtimes and after school to partake in a wide range of activities both in and outside of the classroom that are supported by all staff. Activities week provides opportunities for students to take part in a wide range of experiences and challenges on and off-site.
The extra-curricular life provides our students with a wide range of opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Torquay Academy has numerous clubs and societies that cater for a wide range of interests and ages.
During any particular lunchtime you will find students in the drama studio rehearsing for our next musical, a band practicing for a concert, a creative writing club meeting or a team planning their route for the Ten Tors Challenge.
All students must join an extra-curricular club, when they join TA, as they enhance the educational experience.
I love being at TA! I have done so much since I joined the school. Playing rounders, learning the guitar and doing Duke of Edinburgh are just some of the things I did in school during the past 12 months. This year I am doing these activities as well as staying after school for extra lessons every day that are run by my teachers. I am focusing on my GCSE results as well as planning for what I want to do in our 6th Form and at university.
